Rules

1.  $80 per player (to go into pot.)  Entire $80 is due before start of week 3.  Please pay on time.  Non-payers are subject to termination from league.  Any prizes won will be forfeited upon termination.

2. Guess winner of each NFL game, with no point spread, from week 1 to end of playoffs  (not including the Super Bowl). Each game correctly guessed earns one point. Losses and ties on games picked (non-best bet) earn zero points.

Regular NFL season + playoffs count toward final season standings.  Super Bowl breaks ties. Super Bowl doesn't count in standings.      (Super Bowl tie-breakers to be determined later.)

3. Best Bet: Each week, you must pick one game using the point spread as your “best bet”.  If correct, one point will be added to your weekly guess total.  If incorrect, one point will be deducted from your weekly guess total. If you push (tie on the spread), no point is added or deducted.  Point spreads are based on the lines listed in this website.  You cannot make a best bet on games with no line (NL or OFF). Picking a game with no line is considered an incorrect guess for your best bet and you will receive negative one(-1) point.  Point spread is for your best bet only and is not used for your regular weekly picks.  (YOU MUST MAKE A BEST BET EVERY WEEK, INCLUDING PLAYOFF WEEKS! ) Your first Best Bet cannot be using the over/under.  It must be using the point spread lines.  If you don’t pick at least one game using the point spread lines, you will received a score of –1 for the week on your best bets.

4. Optional 2nd BEST BET: Each regular season week, you may pick a second “best bet” at your option You can pick any game using the spread or pick an “over/under”. If correct, one more point will be added to your weekly guess total.  If incorrect, another point will be deducted from your weekly guess total. If you push, no point is added or deducted.  You cannot make a second best bet on games with no line.  You cannot pick a second best bet using the spread on the same game as your first best bet. (ie. If Bucs play Titans, you can’t take the Bucs as your best bet and Titans as your second best bet.  The second best bet must be from a different game.) You can, however, pick the over/under on the same game as your first best bet.

You don't have to make a second best bet, its your option.

There will be no second best bet during playoff weeks.

(If you pick more than two best bets in a week during the regular season, the first two best bets listed in your picks will be used, or if you somehow clearly marked that one pick is your first best bet and another is your second best bet, the picks indicated as first & second best bet will be used and the others disregarded.  If you pick two or more best bets in the playoffs, the first best bet listed in your picks will be used, or if you somehow clearly marked that one pick is your first best bet, the pick indicated as first best bet will be used and the others will be disregarded.  Best bet in playoff weeks must be on point spread, not on over/under.)

5. Bonus for picking UNDERDOGS.  You will receive bonus points for picking correct underdogs for your regular (non-best bet) picks based on the table below.  These bonus points will count in your weekly & yearly scores.  There is no penalty or deduction if you guess an incorrect underdog.  No extra bonus is awarded for picking underdogs on your best bets, this is for your regular picks only.

6.  PICKS FOR REGULAR SEASON GAMES PLAYED ON THURSDAY, FRIDAY  & SATURDAY ARE DUE BEFORE KICKOFF OF THE FIRST GAME OF THE WEEK.  SUNDAY & MONDAY GAME PICKS ARE DUE BEFORE THE FIRST GAME ON SUNDAY.   FOR PLAYOFFS, ALL PLAYOFF GAMES PLAYED IN A WEEKEND ARE DUE BY KICKOFF OF THE FIRST GAME OF THE WEEK.

The master sheet is sent out for everyone's convenience and is not guaranteed to arrive at a specific time.  If picks are not on time, I cannot get the master sheet out.  It would also be an unfair advantage for a player to see the master sheet prior to making picks.  It is tons of work to run this pool.  Please at least get your picks in when they are due.

If you pick both teams in the same game to win, both guesses will be incorrect. (ie.  Falcons vs. Chiefs...you pick both Falcons and Chiefs...both picks are incorrect.)

6a.    Players are responsible for making their picks on time.   No agreements on what picks you will automatically receive if you forget (ie. “Give me all the favorites/home teams if I forget” is not allowed).  Picks must be emailed, faxed, phoned, or handed to poolmaster .

 7. If your picks are not made on time:

a) If you do not make picks, you will receive a score of one point less than the lowest weekly score of all the players that picked, AND you will receive -1 for incorrect best bet.

b) If your picks are late, you will receive a score of one point less than the lowest score of all the players that picked for the game(s) that already started. (Min. score is zero) Your picks will count for the games that did not start as of the time you submitted your picks.  If your best bet(s) are submitted on games that already started, they will not be considered .

Best bets are due when regular picks are due.  Late best bets on games that have already begun are invalid and considered non-picks.  Late best bets on games that haven't begun will be considered valid.

8.         Winnings are as follows:

     A.  Weekly Winnings = See Funds Page

If tie, split weekly pot equally.

Playoffs count as "one week" for the ten playoff games (excluding Super Bowl).  The highest score for the ten playoff games combined wins a weekly prize.  Playoff games (excluding Super Bowl) count toward final yearly standings.

     B.  Yearly Winnings    See Funds Page

    C. Additional Prizes - See Funds Page

SEE FUNDS PAGE FOR MORE INFO ON PRIZES.

($2/player will be used towards league costs/supplies/website fees.)

 9. All rules are subject to pool master's discretion.  All decisions are final.

 10. Any dues not collected will not be the responsibility of pool master.  If dues are unable to be collected, the dues not collected will be proportionally deducted from prizes.

11. Pool master is not responsible for errors in calculating scores.  It is up to the players to make sure their score is correct.  If there is a question with your score, you must respond before the kick-off of the following week’s first game.  All decisions and judgments by pool master are final.
